Cookies, The Meta Pixel & Advertising
Types of Cookies We Use
Essential cookies— required for the website to function.
Analytics cookies — help us understand how visitors use our site (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager).
Advertising cookies— including the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, used to measure the performance of our advertising, build custom and lookalike audiences from website visitors, and show you relevant ads on Facebook and Instagram.
Your Consent
Where required by law, non-essential cookies (including the Meta Pixel and analytics tools) are only set after you consent via our cookie banner. You can change your preferences at any time, and can also manage advertising preferences directly through your [Meta Ad Preferences](https://www.facebook.com/adpreferences) and [Google Ads Settings](https://myaccount.google.com/data-and-personalization).
What Meta Receives
When the Meta Pixel is active, Meta may receive information such as pages you visited on our site and, where you have submitted a form, contact information you provided (which may be shared with Meta in hashed, non-readable form for ad-matching purposes). Meta acts as an independent controller for its own advertising and analytics purposes — see [Meta’s Privacy Policy](https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/) for details
WhatsApp Communication
WhatsApp is one of our primary channels for scheduling, support, and updates. WhatsApp is provided by Meta / WhatsApp Ireland Limited, and messages are processed through WhatsApp’s infrastructure, which may involve transfer of your information outside the United Kingdom, including to the United States. Messages are end-to-end encrypted in transit under WhatsApp’s own security model. If you would prefer not to communicate via WhatsApp, you can reach us by email at admin@furqanic.com instead.
Who We Share Your Information With
We only share personal information with:
- The specific teacher assigned to your child, on a need-to-know basis, to deliver classes
- Trusted service providers who help us operate — for example, website hosting, the Parent Portal platform, payment processors, email/communication tools, and analytics/advertising providers (including Meta and Google)
Authorities, where we are legally required to disclose information, or where necessary to protect a child’s safety
All third-party providers are contractually required to protect your information and use it only for the purpose we’ve engaged them for. We never sell your personal data.
International Data Transfers
We are based in Pakistan, and some of our service providers (including Meta and Google) are based in, or transfer data to, the United States and other countries outside the UK. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law — such as Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK’s International Data Transfer Addendum — or on the transfer mechanisms our service providers themselves have in place. You can contact us for more information about the safeguards applicable to your data.
How Long We Keep Your Information
- Enquiries that don’t lead to enrolment : up to 12 months, then deleted, unless you ask us to remove it sooner.
- Enrolled student records (progress, attendance, contact details): for the duration of enrolment, plus up to 24 months after classes end, in case your family returns or for reference.
- Payment and invoice records : retained as required by applicable tax and accounting law (typically up to 6 years).
WhatsApp messages: retained only as long as reasonably needed for support and record-keeping, then deleted or archived.
Data Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including access controls, secure hosting, and staff confidentiality expectations — to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. No online system can guarantee absolute security, but we review our practices on an ongoing basis.
Children's Privacy & Parental Consent
Our educational Services are designed for children (ages 4–16) and adults. However:
- All enrolment, admission forms, and account communications must be completed by a parent or legal guardian.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child without a parent or guardian’s involvement and consent.
- Children do not independently create accounts, manage billing, or communicate with us outside of parent-supervised channels.
- If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal information without appropriate parental consent, we will delete it promptly.
Your Rights Under UK GDPR
If you are in the UK (or a jurisdiction with equivalent rights), you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you or your child
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Erase your data, where legally applicable
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Data portability for information you’ve provided to us
- Withdraw consent at any time, including for marketing or for special category (religious) data — without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at admin@furqanic.com. We will respond within one month, as required by law.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK’s supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk, if you believe we have not handled your information properly.
Automated Decision-Making
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you or your child. Teacher assignment and progress assessment are carried out by our human staff and teachers.
Third-Party Links
Our website may link to third-party websites, including social media platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites, and we encourage you to review their policies separately.
